Lymphatic Drainage Massage

We are very excited to now offer Post-Surgical Lymphatic Drainage Massage to our list of services.

This treatment is used to help with post surgery recovery - reducing swelling and detoxifying the body.

  • Lymphatic Drainage Massage (or Manual Lymph Drainage) is a massage technique designed to stimulate the lymphatic system, which is crucial for maintaining a healthy immune system and fluid balance in the body.

This technique, developed in the 1930s by Danish therapist Dr. Emil Vodder, involves rhythmic strokes to encourage the natural drainage of lymph.

  • Lymphatic massages can benefit people who have a buildup of lymphatic fluid. This may occur due to

    • cancer and cancer treatments that involve the removal of lymph nodes

    • filariasis, which is an infestation of the lymph nodes by a parasite carried by mosquitoes

    • some types of vascular surgery, such as vein stripping

    • burn scar excision

    • lipectomy, a type of surgery to remove fat from the body

    • infection or trauma in the lymphatic system

    • a buildup of fluid due to deep vein thrombosis

    • health conditions that affect blood flow to the extremities

We offer it primarily for those who have recently had surgery and (with clearance from their surgeon) would like assistance in reducing fluid in and around the surgical sight (which can aid in recovery).

  • We offer this treatment because numerous people who get surgical procedures outside of the Port Macquarie and Wauchope region have to then travel to seek post care treatment.

We wanted to offer this treatment so locals could receive effective post care without having to do additional travel.

  • Post-Surgical Lymphatic Drainage Massage

    ONE AREA $129/session
    LARGE AREA $150/session

Each session is conducted by an experienced and well-trained Registered Nurse.

Multiple sessions may be required. Our RN can advise on the amount and frequency of sessions to give optimum results.

IMPORTANT: Please follow the post-care advice of your surgeon.

All healing times and conditions will vary, so recovery and results will be unique to each individual person.

You can find our clinic just a short drive from Port Macquarie, in the boutique town of Wauchope.
