DualMode uses a highly controlled laser energy into the skin. Its unique dual-pulse technology can combine ablative and coagulative effects.

The ablative component precisely removes microscopic areas of the skin, while the coagulative component creates controlled thermal energy deeper within the tissue. This stimulates collagen production and skin remodelling, helping to improve skin texture, firmness and overall appearance.

The treatment can be adjusted from a more superficial rejuvenating treatment through to a more intensive fractional resurfacing treatment, depending on your skin concerns and desired results.

No. Etherea DualMode is not a CO₂ laser.

However, DualMode is designed to provide a similar resurfacing effect to CO₂ treatments by combining controlled ablation with coagulation.

The precision of the technology allows your treatment to be tailored to your individual needs, with the aim of achieving excellent results while managing treatment intensity and recovery time.

This will depend on what we are treating and the level of correction required.

Some clients may see a noticeable improvement after just one treatment, while a course of 2–4 treatments may be recommended for concerns such as acne scarring, pigmentation or more significant skin texture changes.

Most clients describe the treatment as a warm, prickling or heated sensation. The level of discomfort will depend on the treatment intensity and the area being treated.

For more intensive treatments, topical numbing can be used to make the procedure more comfortable.

Downtime depends on the intensity of your treatment.

A lighter DualMode treatment may cause temporary redness, warmth and mild sensitivity, with little interruption to your normal routine. A more intensive fractional resurfacing treatment can result in increased redness, swelling, sensitivity and fine peeling or flaking as the skin heals.

Your expected downtime and aftercare will be discussed with you before treatment so you know exactly what to expect.

You may notice an improvement in skin texture and radiance as the skin begins to heal, with results continuing to develop over the following weeks as new collagen is produced and the skin remodels.

Results are progressive and can continue to improve for several months following treatment. Because DualMode stimulates your own collagen production, results can be long-lasting, although the natural ageing process and ongoing sun exposure will continue to affect your skin.

Maintaining a good skincare routine and daily SPF is important for protecting your results.

Treatment may not be recommended if you have an active skin infection, open wounds or inflammation in the treatment area, a condition that significantly affects healing, or certain medications or medical conditions that may increase the risk of complications.

Treatment may also need to be postponed if your skin has recently been exposed to significant sun or if you have recently undergone another intensive skin treatment.
