What is dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning (or epidermal levelling) is an exfoliation treatment that requires no downtime, using a small blade to remove the dead skin cells from the epidermis to reveal the fresh, brighter skin beneath. Dermaplaning also serves as another useful treatment - to remove unwanted hair on the face (farewell peach fuzz!).

What are the benefits of dermaplaning?

Benefits include exfoliating the epidermis, increasing circulation, allowing better penetration of skincare products, and creating a beautifully smooth and flawless base for makeup application.

Will my hair grow back darker after dermaplaning?

Despite what many think, this treatment will not create hair re-growth that is darker or thicker. This is because the hair on the face that dermaplaning targets is vellus hair, not terminal hair.

How often will I need to get dermaplaning treatment?

For exfoliation purposes: Best results come from 3 treatments, 4-6 weeks apart. For hair removal: Repeat treatments will be required depending on the re-growth cycle of your hair.

Is the dermaplaning treatment painful?

Dermaplaning is not painful at all.

Is there any downtime for dermaplaning?

No. This treatment requires no downtime.

Who can or cannot get dermaplaning?

As dermaplaning does not use any active ingredients, it is a great treatment for sensitive skin types, and safe to do during pregnancy or breastfeeding. The only time it may not be suitable is cases where active acne is present.
